Dermaplaning

Dermaplane is also referred to as a lady shave. A dermaplane procedure will help to remove dead skin cells and vellus hair. Also known as peach fuzz. Dermaplaning can also serve as a primer for makeup. Without all the dead skin and peach fuzz your makeup will apply much smoother. And what Dallas women doesn’t want smoother looking skin?

Is Dermaplaning Safe?

Yes! Dermaplane is a safe, non-invasive treatment which uses a special tool applied at a forty-five degree angle to the face. It will exfoliate the skin, revealing radiant and healthier, younger-looking skin. And can be used on all skin types!

Who Should Try Dermaplane?

Dermaplaning is recommended to treat dry, rough skin, acne scars, uneven skin tone, large pores, and fine lines.  It can produce a smoother skin texture and a clearer complexion, while minimizing fine lines and minor scars.

What are the Benefits of Dermaplane?

Dermaplane removes vellus hair (peach fuzz) to reveal healthier skin.  Because facial hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles. Also, with the removal of the epidermal skin skincare products can penetrate more readily into deeper layers. Dermaplaning can also enhance the effectiveness of other skincare treatments such as chemical peels.

Unfortunately Dermaplane facial doesn’t have the ability to remove deep wrinkles or scars. But it can reduce the fine wrinkles that many of us get over time in the Dallas area. Dermaplane can be performed as a standalone treatment or prior to other skincare treatments like a hydrafacial. This is a wonderful form of exfoliation.

Dermaplane is an excellent MedSpa procedure that:

  • Removes vellus facial hair that traps dirt and oil
  • Promotes healthier skin, smoother skin
  • Reduces recent scars like acne
  • Reduces fine lines
  • Produces immediate results
  • No downtime

What Can I Expect with My Procedure?

Demaplane is a quick procedure with few to no adverse effects. Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, our aesthetician simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes. There is no pain in the procedure. There is nothing to be concerned about. Including the concern that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after Dermaplaning. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before dermaplane.

There is no downtime associated with this procedure. But please be sure to use sunscreen to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation. Dermaplaning can be done as often as every two weeks, although it is usually done when vellus hair starts to grow back.  Everyone has a little different time frame for hair growth. But it is generally 4-6 weeks time. If you want to learn more about Dermaplane there is a great article done  The Today Show.  Here is a video they did.
